His Hand

a quiet place within me waits
where God and I have often met
His hand in mine has led me there
so often as I searched
for what I knew was to be
an earthly haven
devoid of fear and sorrow
hate and evil
full of His love and joy
where He tells me to write
about His heavenly bounty
away from the lost world
where we will find
and do not know
what we so desperately seek
what the world does not have
it cannot give
He tells me others will build
on my peace and find His Hand

in the pitch black darkness

wet drops dot the dust
answering prayers for rain
giving new life again
giving new hope again
