the old dark upright piano
sat at one end
of our long dinningroom
silent until mom
sat down on the piano bench
one key at a time
she found whatever tune
was dancing around in her head
when mom played she sounded like
the old saloon piano players
the ones in the cowboy movies
sort of like honky-tonk
she laughed as she played
happy to go
wherever her music took her
listen closely
memories still hear
the music and laughter
that filled our house
so many times

New Moon Old Sun
full moon
brushed by pink
sunrise kissed
fluffy clouds
choices regrets
happy sad
another year
reconciled
no resolution
no sweet kiss
recollections
drifting sifting
sun rays
moonbeams
paving
the path
familiar faces
on the moon
smiling
remembering
old sun
beach sand
feeling still
the warmth
brushed by pink
sunrise kissed
fluffy clouds
choices regrets
happy sad
another year
reconciled
no resolution
no sweet kiss
recollections
drifting sifting
sun rays
moonbeams
paving
the path
familiar faces
on the moon
smiling
remembering
old sun
beach sand
feeling still
the warmth

Padded sell
padded cell
oops
padded cell
whats yours
your world
fill the void
more for less
padded walls
holding you
empty alone
lost
padded cell
sidewalks
walk away
buy and sell
oops
padded cell
whats yours
your world
fill the void
more for less
padded walls
holding you
empty alone
lost
padded cell
sidewalks
walk away
buy and sell

Lorene Dekko Salsbery
I did not know Lorene well.
I learned about her
during a phone conversation
with her mother, a long time friend.
She told me Lorene supported
and encourage those about her
when showing their concern
as her condition progressed.
She made light of serious things
to ease their minds.
She ventured into all methods
that might finally cure
this relentless disease.
She comforted her sister Erika
as she encouraged her to
continue to fight
even though they knew
the end might be near.
She was compassionate
and understanding,
thoughts that will remain
with all those
who knew her

" He Loves You "
His name is Jesus Christ
He is what He says He is
You are what you are
you need Him
find Him
love Him
He loves you
He is what He says He is
You are what you are
you need Him
find Him
love Him
He loves you
